What was cooking at your local Aga Shop over the weekend?

It was a full-house at The Aga Shop Bangor for a Bonne Maman and Aga Demonstration.  Diane van Bueren produced sweet and savoury dishes using Bonne Maman products and showing the versatility of the Aga for baking, grilling, quick and slow cooking. The morning was considered a great success and the audience took away a goodie bag containing a jar of preserves.

The Aga Shop Chester also held a Bonne Maman and Aga Demonstration. Marcia Poole showed how preserves are far more versatile than just spreading on Aga toast.  Meringue Roulade with an Apricot Filling, Pork and Butternut Squash Casserole with Peach preserve, Mackerel and Rhubarb Compote and Strawberry Souffles were a few of the dishes the audience saw and sampled.

Around 200 people visited The Aga Shop Derby for their Open Day. There were continual Aga Demonstrations using local produce.   Samples of delicious organic meats from Lower Hurst Farm at Hartington were quickly devoured, the veg box provided asparagus for a mouth-watering quiche and Aga demonstrator, Sue Dunleavy was constantly busy with cooking and questions.

Upstairs in the demonstration room Richard from Soli Restaurant and Deli gave two bread demonstrations producing deliciously flavoured breads; blue cheese and red onion, walnut and sun-blushed tomato.

Adam, Aga Shop Manager, together with Chris and Katherine worked without a break meeting customers past and present, many taking advantage of the last day of the cast iron cookware offer. Potential owners were able to pick the brains of Shaun Boyce, Project Manager, for technical advice.

As the last customer left at 4.15pm, all agreed that the event was a great success.
