Choice, taste, health, pleasure – BREAD

Aga Foodservice Group is now the world leader in bakery equipment for specialist artisan and in-store supermarket bread producers.  The bakery activities now all form part of Aga Bakery which is being created to help ensure the equipment breadth and service support are available to customers internationally.  Aga Bakery encompasses the Group’s existing businesses acquired in the last 4 years and consolidates them into strong US and European run operations.

With the increasing interest in quality food, the quality equipment required to produce it comes from Aga Bakery.

In Europe Aga Bakery has a base in Strasbourg and is led by Yves Gerber, the Managing Director of Bongard.  He will now be responsible for co-ordinating the resources of Mono, Esmach, Pavailler and Bongard to meet changing customer needs as consumer tastes evolve.

In the USA, Aga Bakery is led by Iain Whyte.  It will have the established strengths of Belshaw and Adamatic on which to build as well as being the distribution platform to take the best European product to the USA as increasingly discerning customers are looking to themes that Aga Bakery distils under the tagline “choice, taste, health, pleasure – BREAD”.

Aga Bakery has a turnover of circa Euros 200 million and employs 1,200 people.  It is market leader in the UK, France and the USA and has a strong presence across Europe and in North Africa.  Key products are deck, rack and convection ovens and dough mixers, dividers and retarder proofers.

Aga Bakery is part of a group whose specialism is cooking and refrigeration equipment.  Aga Bakery’s emblematic product is the  Bongard Cervap range of steam tube deck ovens which have helped make French bread world famous and which work using radiated heat – the cooking technique that makes Aga cooking special.

William McGrath, Chief Executive of Aga Foodservice Group said, “Aga Bakery is now a major core activity of the Group.  We have market leading products and positions enabling us to be the major force worldwide in bakery equipment in the years ahead.”
