1946 saw the introduction of the first Rayburn combined cooker and water heater by Allied Ironfounders Ltd, an ancestor of the Aga Foodservice Group. Today, 60 years on, Rayburn has established itself as Aga’s multi-talented, younger sister – the cast iron range cooker that not only cooks and heats water but can also heat up to 20 radiators.
Rayburn has seen a number of new product introductions over recent years, including the contemporary Rayburn XT, complete with power flue enabling it to be installed almost anywhere in the kitchen.
Commenting on the Rayburn product which is manufactured at the Aga site in Telford, Managing Director, Geoff Harrop says: “Rayburn has a tremendous history and with the continuing programme of product enhancements, it can ensure its continuing relevance to the new generation of consumers.”
Rayburn’s 60th birthday celebrations took place at the Chelsea Physic Garden, London on Thursday 6th July 2006.
